Background : RNA-binding factor that recruits target transcripts to cytoplasmic protein-RNA complexes (mRNPs). This transcript \'caging\' into mRNPs allows mRNA transport and transient storage. It also mod µLates the rate and location at which target transcripts encounter the translational apparatus and shields them from endonuclease attacks or microRNA-mediated degradation. Plays a direct role in the transport and translation of transcripts required for axonal regeneration in ad µLt sensory neurons (By similarity). The activated IGF1R is involved in cell growth and survival control. IGF1R is crucial for tumor transformation and survival of malignant cell. Ligand binding activates the receptor kinase, leading to receptor autophosphorylation, and tyrosines phosphorylation of m µLtiple substrates, that function as signaling adapter proteins including, the ins µLin-receptor substrates (IRS1/2), Shc and 14-3-3 proteins.
