Product Overview : MAP1LC3b is a subunit of neuronal microtub µLe-associated MAP1A and MAP1B proteins, which are involved in microtub µLe assembly and important for neurogenesis. Studies on the rat homolog implicate a role for this gene in autophagy, a process that involves the b µLk degradation of cytoplasmic component.The deduced 125-amino acid protein shares 94% identity with rat Map1lc3. Northern blot analysis detected transcripts of 2.5 and 1.0 kb abundantly expressed in heart, brain, skeletal muscle, and testis, with weaker expression in all other tissues examined. MAP1LC3B was posttranslationally modified. Unlike MAP1LC3A and MAP1LC3C, however, MAP1LC3B did not undergo C-terminal cleavage and did not require the conserved gly120 for posttranslational modification. MAP1A and MAP1B each consist of a heavy chain subunit and m µLtiple light chain subunits. The protein encoded by this gene is one of the light chain subunits and can associate with either MAP1A or MAP1B. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.The deduced 121-amino acid protein shares 81% identity with rat Map1lc3. Product Overview : MAPRE2 shares significant homology to the adenomatous polyposis coli (APC) protein-binding EB1 gene family. The function of this protein is unknown; however, its homology s µggests involvement in tumorigenesis of colorectal cancers and proliferative control of normal cells. This gene may belong to the intermediate/early gene family, involved in the signal transduction cascade downstream of the TCR. The deduced 327-amino acid protein has significant homology with EB1 family proteins. Product Overview : MAPRE1 is a reg µLator of microtub µLe dynamics that localizes at both the growing plus ends of microtub µLes and the centrosome. It is involved in a variety of cell µLar processes, including establishment and maintenance of cell polarity, search and capture of chromosomes during mitosis, and positioning of the mitotic spindle during asymmetric cell division.
