Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate POLR2C in samples. An antibody specific for POLR2C has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyPOLR2C present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for POLR2C is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of POLR2C bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : POLR2C encodes the third largest subunit of RNA polymerase II, the polymerase responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA in eukaryotes. The product of this gene contains a cysteine rich region and exists as a heterodimer with another polymerase subunit, POLR2J. These two subunits form a core subassembly unit of the polymerase. A pseudogene has been identified on chromosome 21. The deduced 275-amino acid human POLR2C protein, termed RPB33 by the authors, shares 45% sequence identity with the yeast homolog RPB3. POLR2C contains a single cysteine-rich region. Northern blot analysis of HeLa cell mRNA detected an approximately 1.8-kb POLR2C doublet.

Product Overview : DNA polymerase epsilon (POLE) has been implicated in DNA repair and replication. Purified human HeLa POLE consists of a 261-kD catalytic subunit and a 55-kD accessory subunit. Li et al. (1997) cloned the small subunit of human POLE, which they symbolized DPE2. The cDNA predicted a 526-amino acid protein. The gene product has 26% identity to DPB2, a POLE accessory protein in the yeast S. cerevisiae. Li et al. (1997) assigned the DPE2 gene to human chromosome 14 using human-rodent hybrid panels. The gene was then regionally localized to 14q13-q21 by fluorescence in situ hybridization.

Product Overview : Dis3L is an RNase enzyme homologous to the yeast protein Rrp44, and can be part of the exosome complex in the cytoplasm of eukaryotic cells. DIS3L belongs to the ribonuclease II (RNB) family. Ribonuclease II (RNase II) is a major exoribonuclease that intervenes in all of these fundamental processes; it can act independently or as a component of the exosome, an essential RNA-degrading m µLtiprotein complex. RNase II-like enzymes are found in all three kingdoms of life, but there are no structural data for any of the proteins of this family. RNase R is a close homolog of RNase II, but it can, unlike RNase II, degrade RNA with secondary structures without help of accessory factors.

Product Overview : QDPR (quinoid dihydropteridine reductase) is part of the pathway that recycles a substance called tetrahydrobiopterin, also known as BH4. Tetrahydrobiopterin works with an enzyme called phenylalanine hydroxylase to process a substance called phenylalanine. Phenylalanine is an amino acid (a building block of proteins) that is obtained thro µgh the diet; it is found in all proteins and in some artificial sweeteners.
