Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate 5HT/ST-Ab-IgG in samples. An antibody specific for 5HT/ST-Ab-IgG has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and any5HT/ST-Ab-IgG present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for 5HT/ST-Ab-IgG is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of 5HT/ST-Ab-IgG bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.

The remainder is syntheVolumed in serotonergic neurons in the CNS where it has various functions, including the reg µLation of mood, appetite, sleep, muscle contraction, and some cognitive functions including memory and learning; and in blood platelets where it helps to reg µLate hemostasis and blood clotting. In addition to animals, serotonin is also found in fungi and plants. 5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT) is an important neurotransmitter made by neurons in the central nervous system. These functions are mediated by a large number of receptors.After it is released by a neuron, 5-HT activates receptors located on nearby neurons.
Stability : The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature.
