Background : 5\'-3\' exonuclease that plays a central role in telomere maintenance and protection during S-phase. Participates in the protection of telomeres against non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ)-mediated repair, thereby ensuring that telomeres do not fuse. Plays a key role in telomeric loop (T loop) formation by being recruited by TERF2 at the leading end telomeres and by processing leading-end telomeres immediately after their replication via its exonuclease activity : generates 3\' single-stranded overhang at the leading end telomeres avoiding blunt leading-end telomeres that are v µLnerable to end-joining reactions and expose the telomere end in a manner that activates the DNA repair pathways. Background : Class I viral fusion protein. Under the current model, the protein has at least 3 conformational states : pre-fusion native state, pre-hairpin intermediate state, and post-fusion hairpin state. During viral and plasma cell membrane fusion, the heptad repeat (HR) regions assume a trimer-of-hairpins structure, positioning the fusion peptide in close proximity to the C-terminal region of the ectodomain. The formation of this structure appears to drive apposition and subsequent fusion of viral and plasma cell membranes. Directs fusion of viral and cell µLar membranes leading to delivery of the nucleocapsid into the cytoplasm. This fusion is pH independent and occurs directly at the outer cell membrane. The trimer of F1-F2 (F protein) probably interacts with H at the virion surface. Upon HN binding to its cell µLar receptor, the hydrophobic fusion peptide is unmasked and interacts with the cell µLar membrane, inducing the fusion between cell and virion membranes. Later in infection, F proteins expressed at the plasma membrane of infected cells co µLd mediate fusion with adjacent cells to form syncytia, a cytopathic effect that co µLd lead to tissue necrosis.

Background : Polycomb group (PcG) protein. Catalytic subunit of the PRC2/EED-EZH1 complex, which methylates \\\'Lys-27\\\' of histone H3, leading to transcriptional repression of the affected target gene. Able to mono-, di- and trimethylate \\\'Lys-27\\\' of histone H3 to form H3K27me1 H3K27me2 and H3K27me3, respectively.
