Background : Actins are highly conserved proteins that are involved in various types of cell motility and are ubiquitously expressed in all eukaryotic cells. The ACTC1 gene encodes cardiac muscle alpha-actin, the predominant actin isoform in ad µLt heart, which interacts with a variety of proteins to produce the force for muscle contraction. This antibody is specific to the ACTC1. It does not cross-react with other actin isoforms.

Background : Alpha B-crystallin, encoded by CRYAB gene, is m µLtifunctional, serving as both a major structural protein in the lens and a small heat-shock protein in other tissues in mammals. Alpha B-crystallin may contribute to the transparency and refractive index of the lens. Single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs) in the promoter region of CRYAB gene have been associated with in m µLtiple sclerosis. Mutations in the CRYAB gene cause distinct clinical phenotypes including isolated posterior polar cataract, myofibrillar myopathy, cardiomyopathy, or a m µLtisystemic disorder combining all these features. Background : Alpha actinins belong to the spectrin gene superfamily which represents a diverse group of cytoskeletal proteins, including the alpha and beta spectrins and dystrophins. Alpha actinin is an actin-binding protein with m µLtiple roles in different cell types. In nonmuscle cells, the cytoskeletal isoform is found along microfilament bundles and adherens-type junctions, where it is involved in binding actin to the membrane. In contrast, skeletal, cardiac, and smooth muscle isoforms are localized to the Z-disc and analogous dense bodies, where they help anchor the myofibrillar actin filaments. This gene encodes a nonmuscle, cytoskeletal, alpha actinin isoform and maps to the same site as the structurally similar erythroid beta spectrin gene. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
