Bovine Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) ELISA Kit
Species Reactivity : Bovine (Bos taurus; Cattle)
UniProt : N/A
Abbreviation : LDL
Alternative Names : N/A
Application : ELISA
Range : 3.12-200 ng/mL
Sensitivity : 1.26 ng/mL
Intra-AssayCV : ?6.9%
Inter-AssayCV : ?11.5%
Recovery : 1.12
Sample Type : Serum, Plasma, Other biological fluids
Detection Method : Sandwich
Analysis Method?? : Quantitive
Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate LDL in samples. An antibody specific for LDL has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyLDL present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for LDL is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of LDL bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is a type of lipoprotein that transports cholesterol and triglycerides from the liver to peripheral tissues. LDL is one of the five major groups of lipoproteins; these groups include chylomicrons, very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), intermediate-density lipoprotein (IDL), low-density lipoprotein, and high-density lipoprotein (HDL). Like all lipoproteins, LDL enables fats and cholesterol to move within the water based solution of the blood stream. LDL also reg µLates cholesterol synthesis at these sites. It commonly appears in the medical setting as part of a cholesterol blood test, and since high levels of LDL cholesterol can signal medical problems like cardiovasc µLar disease, it is sometimes called "bad cholesterol" (as opposed to high-density lipoprotein (HDL), which is frequently referred to as the "good cholesterol").
Stability : The stability of ELISA kit is determined by the loss rate of activity. The loss rate of this kit is less than 5% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test. Keep the kit at 37°C for 4 and 7 days, and compare O.D.values of the kit kept at 37°C with that of at recommended temperature. (referring from China Biological Products Standard, which was calc µLated by the Arrhenius equation. For ELISA kit, 4 days storage at 37°C can be considered as 6 months at 2 - 8°C, which means 7 days at 37°C equaling 12 months at 2 - 8°C).

Test principle : This assay employs a two-site sandwich ELISA to quantitate LP-PLA2 in samples. An antibody specific for LP-PLA2 has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells and anyLP-PLA2 present is bound by the immobilized antibody. After removing any unbound substances, a biotin-conj µgated antibody specific for LP-PLA2 is added to the wells. After washing, Streptavidin conj µgated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound avidin-enzyme reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in proportion to the amount of LP-PLA2 bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
Product Overview : Lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 (Lp-PLA2, also known as platelet activating factor acetyl-hydrolase), is a relatively recent marker that has emerged as a major, independent predictor of CHD. Lp-PLA2 is an active phospholipase that circ µLates in plasma bound to LDL, and it appears to act almost exclusively on oxidized LDL to generate lysophosphatidyl-choline, which is proinflammatory and is considered to be atherogenic. Thus, Lp-PLA2 represents an interesting link between lipoproteinoxidation and vasc µLar inflammation, which likely explain its strong, independent association with CHD risk. Data from the recent ARIC study have indicated that the predictive power of Lp-PLA2 is attenuated after adjustment for m µLtiple established risk factors.
